Support us. A.O. Web Presences:
Affordable work for emerging artists. Low-cost and barter-system freelance for artists who want to focus on their art.

Welcome to A.O. PRO(+ductions)

We’re glad you found us, and we can’t wait to help!

In early 2009, I started work on a new company model for my dance company, the A.O. Movement Collective.  This model was comprised of three parts: artistic, business, and community-focused.  A.O. PRO(+ductions) is the business-third of the model, and focuses on providing artists with affordable freelance arts management, consulting, and design work.

Explore the site, check out what we offer, and then drop us a line! We’d love to hear what you’re working on and where you’d like to go!  For more information on the other two parts of the A.O. Family, check out our community hub the Urgent Artist Blog, and the A.O. Movement Collective website, and for more info about PRO, just click the link to the right.

Hope to hear from you soon!
Sarah A.O.

Meet the Pros
Saifan Shmerer

Consulting and management

Saifan Shmerer is geographically located in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, emotionally trapped between fantasy and logic and psychically road-tripping between matter and the moon. Her muscle memory contains 19 years of ballet training, tutus and pointe shoes, 4 years of hip-hop and jazz (including Thriller and the solo from Flashdance), 6 (plus) years of “modern,” improvisational practice and performance theory. Her intellectual capacity is threatening to max out at 14,562 GB of radical anti-racist feminism(s), childhood memories, intensive personal inquiry, 6 years of conversational Spanish, the kinesthetic dynamics of quality espresso and latte art, her grandmother’s pie crust recipe and the names of her 11 cats (some deceased). She and her work are concerned with “the state of things” in any and all of the following departments: the world, love, dreams, the  apocalypse, drag, academia, gynecology, language, history/herstories, sex, imaginary domains, time, the inside of her refrigerator, (mis)representation, and bodies. In the tradition of name-dropping, Saifan graduated from Eugene Lang New School for Liberal Arts in 2008. She was the 2008-09 recipient of the Van Lier Fellowship at Dance Theater Workshop. In April 2010, Saifan premiered her first evening-length work, Right/Left Behind to a sold-out audience at The Tank, NYC. She was also the curator and host of the monthly VIP Performance Party Series in DUMBO. As part of saifan shmerer | SASSON, Saifan is currently engineering an epic performance installation, Nothing Lasts Forever, Nothing is Lost Forever, with her fierce and dainty collaborators.
